From 5 to 9 October, the African Refiners Association (ARA) organised virtually the ARA Week, its annual flagship event. Jasper Loggers talked on behalf of the global fuels team that brings together Sustainable Fuels, ACFA and ACELA about how fuel ethers in Africa’s petrol can improve air quality in a cost effective way.

The future of fuel specification is a particularly important topic in Africa, as it is directly linked to improvements of urban air quality. In effect, improvements of fuel specification lead to preservation of environment and public health in Africa. The working groups of ARA have been undertaking tremendous work to develop and promote AFRI specifications, which among other issues, focus on reduction of sulphur in African fuel.

Sustainable Fuels is committed to work with African stakeholders to help African states in their transition towards cleaner and more efficient fuels.
